２. Before Installing Voidol Plugin
・Please install and activate Voidol stand-alone version included in this product.
Voidol Plugin works by loading the Voice Conversion Models registered in Voidol stand-alone version.
Therefore, the Voidol Plugin cannot start up if Voidol stand-alone version is not installed and licensed.
Please refer to the enclosed "Voidol Installation Guide (.pdf)", then install and activate the stand-alone version.

【Important】
For customers who have already purchased Voidol for Windows or Voidol for macOS (excluding Mac App Store version)
If you have purchased Voidol for Windows or macOS version (excluding Mac App Store version) and have already registered the license on your PC, the stand-alone version has been already installed.
It is not necessary to install the stand-alone version Voidol included in this product.
Please make sure that you have the latest version of the application before Installing the Voidol Plugin.
３. How to Install Voidol Plugin
This section describes how to install Voidol Plugin in Windows 10 and macOS .
【Windows 10】How to install Voidol Plugin
There are two ways in order to install Voidol Plugin into Windows10.
1. Installing Voidol Plugin with Command File
2. Installing Voidol Plugin manually
If your system is one of the following, the installation with a command file is not available.
• When using a system that cannot be promoted to administrator
• When using a system that has changed drive or directory structure
In the above case, you need to copy VoidolPlugin.vst3 into the VST folder manually.

【Windows 10】How to install Voidol Plugin with Command File
In the same directory as this user guide, there are “VoidolPlugin.vst3” including the VST3 format Plugin and the command file "Install.cmd" for installing the Voidol Plugin.
Please right-click the file and select “Run as administrator”, and the command will be executed in a separate window.
Then, VoidolPlugin.vst3 will automatically installed on the following local disk
(C :)> / Program Files / Common Files / VST3 /
Then, please load the plugin folder in your DAW application.
If Voidol Plugin is displayed in the plugin menu of your DAW application, installation of Voidol Plugin is complete.
【Important】 When the command file is executed, the following alert may be displayed.
In this case, please click “More info” and “Run anyway”. You may be required to authenticate.
After running the command file, please check that the VoidolPlugin.vst3 is copied into
(C :)> / Program Files / Common Files / VST3 /.
Then, please load the plugin folder in your DAW application.
If Voidol Plugin is displayed in the plugin menu of your DAW application, the installation of Voidol Plugin is complete.
【Windows 10】How to install Voidol Plugin manually
VoidolPlugin.vst3 is included in the same directory as this user guide.
Please copy VoidolPlugin.vst3 into the following local disk manually.
(C :)> / Program Files / Common Files / VST3 /
If you cannot find the folder named VST3 under Common Files, you need to create a folder named VST3 by yourself and copy VoidolPlugin.vst3 into the VST3 folder.
Then, please load the plugin folder in your DAW application.
If Voidol Plugin is displayed in the plugin menu of your DAW application, the installation of Voidol Plugin is complete.
【macOS】How to install Voidol Plugin
In the same directory as this user guide, there are “VoidolPlugin_VST3_v1.0.0.dmg” including the VST3 format plugin or “VoidolPlugin_AU_v1.0.0.dmg” including the Audio Unit format plugin.
There is no difference in function between the Audio Unit and VST3,
so please select the plugin format according to the compatibility of your DAW application and then open the dmg file.
①Please run “VoidolPlugin_VST3_v1.0.0.pkg” or“VoidolPlugin_AU_v1.0.0.pkg” by double-clicking or by right-clicking and selecting “Open”.
②When you run the .pkg file, the following screen will be displayed.
After confirming the contents, please click "Continue" and proceed to the EULA section.
③Please confirm the End-User License Agreement and click “Continue”, then click “Agree”.
④Please check the Installation Type and click “Install”.
The macOS system may require a password, please follow the on-screen instructions and enter the password to continue the installation.
⑤The installation completed.
⑥After the installation, Voidol Plugin will be automatically installed on the following local disk.
VST3 format: "Macintosh HD> Library> Audio> Plug-ins> VST3".
Audio Unit format, "Macintosh HD> Library> Audio> Plug-ins >Components".
Then, please load the plugin folder in your DAW application.
If Voidol Plugin is displayed in the plugin menu of your DAW application, installation of Voidol Plugin is complete.
４. License Registration of Voidol Plugin
If you can confirm that Voidol Plugin has been added to the plugin menu of your DAW application, the next step is to register the license.
Please prepare the license key sent after purchasing Voidol Plugin.
【Note】You must be connected to the network to register the license in this step.
①Please insert the Voidol Plugin displayed in the plugin menu of your DAW application into any audio track.
After it is loaded, the following screen will be displayed.

②Please enter the license key and click the "Unlock" button.
If the correct license key is entered and the following screen is displayed, the license registration of the Voidol Plugin is complete.
Note: Please use the menu bar when you cannot copy and paste due to duplication of a keyboard shortcut in Studio One series.

【Note】When the message "Please install voice conversion models in Voidol application." is displayed.
When the message "Please install voice conversion models in Voidol application." is displayed as shown below,
it is considered that the installation or license registration of the stand-alone version has not been completed.
Please refer to the enclosed "Voidol Installation Guide (.pdf)", then install and activate Voidol stand-alone version.
After installing the stand-alone version and completing the license registration, please restart the DAW application and launch the Voidol Plugin again, and then check that the alert has disappeared.

６. How to use Voidol Plugin
This section describes how to use Voidol Plugin.
① Please set the audio settings on the DAW application
If you want to convert the voice with the microphone, you need to set the audio settings on your DAW application.
Please select the audio device you want to use for input and output from the settings of your DAW application.
* Our recommended audio environment is described in "1. System Requirements - Recommended Audio Environment".
When converting using the built-in microphone or speaker, please be sure to use earphones or headphones to prevent howling.
② Please insert Voidol Plugin to the audio track
From the plugin menu of your DAW application, please insert the Voidol Plugin in the audio track you want to use.
When Voidol Plugin is loaded successfully, the following main screen will be displayed.
③ Please select the Voice Conversion Models and narrator-type on Voidol Plugin
Please click "-Select Voice Model-" at the top of the main screen to display a list of character names.
When you move the cursor over the character name, a list of narrator-types will be displayed.
Please select the narrator-type suitable for your gender and voice quality.
④ Output audio adjustment (optional)
Voidol Plugin has various functions to support voice conversion.
Please adjust the output audio if necessary, referring to "５. Features of Voidol Plugin".
７. How to Add the Voice Conversion Models into Voidol Plugin
【Important】
Voidol Plugin works by loading the Voice Conversion Models registered in Voidol stand-alone version.
Therefore, in order to add the purchased voice conversion model into the Voidol Plugin,
you must first add the voice conversion model to Voidol standalone version.
If you have not installed Voidol stand-alone version and registered the license yet,
please refer to the enclosed "Voidol Installation Guide (.pdf)", then install and activate Voidol stand-alone version.
How to Add the Voice Conversion models into Voidol Plugin
【Note】You must be connected to the network to register the license in this step.
① Please launch the stand-alone version and click the gear icon to display the setting screen.Then, please import the .ppk file of the target character by dragging and dropping it to the section where the message "Drag and drop Voice Conversion Model (.ppk) file" is displayed.
② When the license registration screen appears as follows, please enter or copy & paste the correct license key.
③If the correct license key is entered, the "Registration success" window will be displayed as shown below. Then, the installation of the voice conversion model on the stand-alone version will start.
④If the installation is completed, the list of voice conversion models and narrator types will be displayed on the setting screen.
④After adding the voice conversion model to the stand-alone, please restart your DAW application.
Then please launch Voidol Plugin and make sure that the voice conversion model is added to the character selection section.
If the character name has been displayed in the character selection section,
the voice conversion model is added to Voidol Plugin successfully.
【Important】How to fix the narrator order of Voidol Plugin and standalone version Voidol
Depending on your environment, the narrator name may be displayed randomly on the Voidol Plugin or Voidol standalone version. In the image below, the order of male narrators is displayed as "male 2 → male 1 → male 3".
In such a case, you can fix the display order by clicking the arrow icon below the narrator display section on the setting screen of Voidol standalone version.
Then, when you restart the DAW application and launch the Voidol Plugin, the display order on the standalone version will be reflected in the display order of the Voidol Plugin.
Q1: The converted voice does not resemble the character’s voice.
You can check the converted voice sample of each character from this site (Japanese). https://crimsontech.jp/apps/voidol/voice_model/ .
If you can't convert your voice like these samples, please check the narrator type so that your voice can be most alike to the character’s voice.
Also, the converted voice is affected by the way you speak, so please try various ways to speak so that the conversion can be heard more smoothly.
Q2: Converted audio has a noticeable interruption.
Please turn off the Voidol Plugin once and check if there is any interruption in your own unconverted audio.
If there is an interruption in your unconverted voice, there may be a problem with the buffer size or sample rate settings on your DAW application.
Please adjust the buffer size and sample rate on the DAW application setting screen while checking the converted audio so that no interruption occurs.
The sample rate on the DAW application that we recommend is 44100.
Also, if the Noise Gate value is too high, the beginning and end of the voice may be cut off unnaturally.
While checking the converted sound, gradually raise the value of the noise gate from 0% so as not be interrupted.
Q3: The message "Please install voice conversion models in Voidol application." is displayed
and the Voidol Plugin cannot be loaded into the DAW application.
Most likely you have not installed or activated Voidol stand-alone version.
Please install the stand-alone version by referring to the following part in this guide.
Then please restart your DAW application and launch the Voidol Plugin again to check if the message disappears.
Q4: Voidol Plugin is not displayed in the Plugin menu of the DAW application.
After checking "3. How to Install Voidol Plugin" in this user guide,
please make sure that the VST3 file (common to Windows 10 and macOS) or Audio Unit file (macOS only) is moved to the correct plugin folder.
If you can confirm that it is moved in the correct plugin folder, please load the corresponding plugin folder in your DAW application.
If the Voidol Plugin is not displayed in the plugin folder after the above way,
it is possible that the Voidol Plugin does not support the specifications of your DAW application or PC.
Please check whether your environment is compatible with Voidol Plugin from "１. System Requirement ".
Q5: Voidol Plugin is displayed in the plugin menu, but plugin cannot be inserted in the track with a warning.
It is possible that Voidol Plugin is not compatible with your DAW application. Please make sure that your DAW application complies with
"1. System Requirement " described in this user guide.
Q6: The converted voice is significantly delayed.
With the Voidol Plugin, a delay (latency) of about 100ms occurs due to the specifications, but if the delay is too significant,
it is thought that something is wrong with the buffer size or sample rate setting on the DAW application.
To reduce the delay, please adjust the buffer size and sample rate on the DAW application setting screen while being careful not to affect the
converted voice.
Q7: I want to know the usage rights for each character's voice conversion model.
The scope of usage rights differs for each character’s voice conversion model.
Please refer to “R.C.voice Character Usage Guidelines” and check the usable the scope of usage rights for each character.
